The winter has hit finally, and the hay days of the grey days are here. The days are shorter, colder and cozier, of course if you are cozy enough. I like to be cozy on these days. An oversized pullover, a warm throw and covered feet. Alongwith that a cup of hot tea. Talking of tea, its the perfect time to have the milky Starbucks 'Chai-latte'. However, this one is home-made, and from the scratch. Here is the recipe:
-o- Water 3/4th cup
-o- Milk 1/4th cup
-o- Bay leaf 1 large
-o- Peppercorn - About 5
-o- Cardamom - About 4
-o- Ginger ( I recommend fresh ginger, but if you don't have that and have bottled, that will do) 1 tablespoon
-o- English breakfast tea (as its most neutral in flavor, you can also use Lipton or any other)
-o- Sugar - As per taste, I used 1 tablespoon
Put all of them together in a saucepan and simmer, till you have the right color.
Use a sieve to strain into a cup. And enjoy!
