Fall Burgundy Makeup

Fall is here and my makeup has made a swift little turn. I hydrate my skin little more and try to keep it dewy. My makeup products are much more nourishing for this time of the year. I have been wearing this makeup for the last week now and its a very simple, few products look. Bronzer has a big roll so when I have a bit more time I use a color correction palette for overall contouring. If you want to see the color correction process then let me know in the comment box below.

I started with the Tarte Color Correction palette and then blended it all with my Tarte Foundation Brush. Then I pumped out the Chanel Vitalumiere Moisture Rich Foundation. Its a very hydrating foundation with SPF 15 which is a great combination for this time of the year.

After I blended the foundation with the same brush I moved onto my eyebrows.

I like to keep my lips looking nourished and berry-tinted during fall and my eyebrows to be bold. Though my eyebrows don't need filling in it has a tendency to be droopy. So I drew the outline for it where it could stay put and simply combed it with the brush that came along with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz.

For my eyes and cheek, I used the same bronzer from Bodyshop. I just fake the crease of my eyes lightly and finish up with the mascara.

Then I take a fluffy brush to draw a bit of contour as well as color to the area under my cheek. I find the hollow of my cheeks and keep emphasizing. Then I used the Tom Ford Bicoastal blush and apply it just at the top of my cheeks. A very light dusting.

And finally, I finish up with this lipstick by Lancome's Rouge in Love (275M Jolie Rosalie - natural mauve)!

4 Brightening Masks That I Own

Face masks are a bit of an obsession for me and I use at least one almost everyday. Face masks are good because, your skin, just like your mood may not feel just the same everyday, so some extra TLC ensure that skin is looked after each day. Of course there is time constraint as we are running busy with our lives, but finding anything between 3-20minutes most of the days might just be good for our skin.

Of all the masks I have, I picked up the ones that brightens and there are exactly 4 of them. I usually use a brightening mask at the beginning of the day, as naturally, my skin looks fresher, brighter and ready to go!

My Labor Day Beauty Routine

Of course the ideal thing to do would be travel. But then there was anticipation of Hermine and excitement of other travel plans coming up. But whatever is the case I was long looking for an opportunity to have a long weekend of doing nothing. Not that I could do that all 3 days, nor that I would have the patience, but I did have an entire day of indulgence. This is how I did it.

My Makeup Removal Routine

My cleansing process at the end of day is not only a makeup removal process but also a way to relax and unwind. I take my time to go through it and take every opportunity to massage and splash water. I start with lighting a candle. This one in Mokara fragrance is currently my favorite candle. Its a beautiful romantic smell and quickly transports me to a world of fairytales. Then I slip into comfortable clothes, which is usually a loose, long t-shirt. Then I pull up all my hair to tie up into a top knot. I pick up all the products I need and sit at one place to start removing makeup while watching a movie or series or anything that I fancy.

I start with rewinding the mascara. Removing mascara, especially if its waterproof can be quite painful. I first apply the melt-off and leave it as it is to start working on my lashes. The melt-off is quite effective and a simple wipe off is good enough. However, I go another step to make sure there is no trace of makeup left.

I love this step. Firstly I love the product, and the whole process of massaging it on my face. I take my time to slowly to apply the balm on my face slowly in circular motion all over my face.

I then wash it off by splashing water on my face, and then move over to my Boscia deep cleanser. Its a stick and convenient but more importantly its a very effective cleanser for deep cleansing.

once my face is damp and I have applied cleanser I use a brush for deep cleansing. I move it around my face avoiding eyes and allow it to deep cleanse my face.

This step can be done just with a damp or not cotton pad. But, I confess that I go a step further and use a micellar water drenched cotton pad to wipe the mascara off. I fold the cotton pad and just wipe off the lashes (like shown in the image above).

Then I wash my face one more time (I told you I am addicted to that :), wipe off my face then apply a face mask. usually a detox mask to finish my skin cleansing process.

A Brow Find

This product arrived along with some other in a birch box monthly sample kit. But before I start talking about this product, let me describe my brows!

Its medium bushy, with sparse growth near the bridge of the nose and at the end. I don't need to shape it up regularly because it never grows out of place. So I need a product that keeps things in place, does moderate filling and not too dark or over the top. I tried a lot of products and it either looked ineffective or OTT!

So when I was introduced to this I was skeptical. And I was impressed. It moderately covered my tiny bald patches while taming my brows. And there it was, the perfect brow tool!

Dealing Uncalm Skin With Gotz Bad Ischl

Honestly I have heard several things about the redness of my skin. My oily/combination skin can react to anything external. I have tried several products over the years and finally once I got to try the Gotz Bad Ischl Oxygen Facial Tonic, I have actually started to see change. Its not the best smelling product but if you want a solution that will last a long time and isn't something momentary then this is the real deal.

Gotz Bad Ischl Oxygen Facial Tonic has been developed from the Bad Ischl Spring Water by Dr. Joseph Gotz. Due to the emperor of Austria, Francis I, Holy Roman Emperor 's brother , Archduke Rudolf had cured himself prolonged skin illnesses in Bad Ischl spa, the spring water which was used, had a magical name of "Godly water" , the name of it spread like wildfire across Europe. Thus, Bad Ischl spa center quickly became a member of European royalty and became one of the "must visit" places for high society celebrities who travel.

So its no wonder if they say that its that magic potion, which solves most of the regular skin concerns for oily & combination skin. The product contains healing properties of Anthyllis Vulneraria Flower extract, calendula officinalis flower extract, edelweiss, echinacea pallida extract to effectively moisturize, soothe and calm skin, promote wound healing and subsequent absorption of nutrients. Ischl spring water rich in oxygen, exotic mineral and trace elements, the water double cleanses skin, minimizes pores and restore skin's natural balance, improve blood circulation, enhance skin immunity and natural resilience.

I have been now using it for the last 2 weeks and seen remarkable changes when it comes to skin sensitivity. My skin has not been reacting as much to a lot of products and a remarkable reduction in redness. I use it twice a day. After I have cleansed my face thoroughly, I spray a little product in my hands and then dab my palms against my face. Then I just continue along with the regular moisturizer. You can also do this with a cotton pad, but I like the sensation of skin against skin. The most effective method of anti-acne is soaking the pads and leaving them on for a few minutes. But honestly, I have had only one opportunity to do so in the last couple of weeks.

If you are wondering where to find, then its here.

Product Review - July

As I re-stock my beauty shelf, it's a must that I share my feedback with you. I usually buy products either out of research or feedback and my recent purchases have been interesting and worth a share.

Ole Henriksen Power Bright

This is a 3-step skin brightening process. Complete with a skin brightening scrub and 2 different kinds of masks, it leaves my skin glowing and bright. Exceptional product for what its supposed to do. However, I feel for sensitive skin it's a good idea to test it out first.

Smooth Delivery Makeup Sponge

This sponge is exceptionally soft and smooth to apply. I have applied everything from foundation to blush with it. And they merged with each other as well as it never has.

Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20

I really like the finish of Laura Mercier face products. This tinted moisturizer has SPF 20 and applies great. The texture is liquidy and you will need very little.

Sweat Cosmetics Twist + Brush Mineral Foundation

I don't recommend wearing makeup for workouts but after I came across this product I had to try and I did try it out in the gym. Thankfully, there were no breakouts, in fact, there wasn't even any oiliness.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil (Loaded & Demolition)

I love UD 24/7 Glide-on pencils. They are smooth and glide on beautifully. So I have picked up Loaded & Demolition. A brown and a green, just right for me eyes.

Cinema Secrets Makeup Brush Cleansing Pro Kit

I have always found it challenging to clean makeup brushes. First, take lukewarm water in a bowl, mix some shampoo then clean the brush and then hold under water and then drying. The duration of which depends on the weather! Well, this duo by Cinema Secrets cut out a lot of these processes. You pour some liquid in the container that comes along, then take the brush out and wipe on a tissue properly. And you are done!

Summer Makeup

The key rules of my summer makeup are:-

| oil free |
| should have SPF |
| not too many products |
| And more peachy bronze than pinks!

For the base

On clear skin, I started off with a tinted moisturiser with SPF, instead of any other moisturizer. Then I used very little concealer around eyes. Once everything was evened out, I applied some bronzer, just under my cheek bones and blended. Then I applied some blush and blended well. In the end, I used the Sweat Cosmetic's powder mineral foundation. It has SPF 30 and is proven to be good during workouts. Which means no breakout!

For eyes

For my eyes, I keep it fairly simple. I use a swipe of eyeshadow pencil on my upper lid, eyeliner along the lower waterline and finish with a mascara. I don't use waterproof mascara, as in my weather conditions I don't need that.

For lips

For my lips, I ended with Sisley's Golden Copper
